UPDATE:
Solace members are now volunteering all throughout Shands! We serve in both the North and South Towers! We providing rotating services on several floors, including the ADTU in the North Tower and the oncology units in the South Tower. Additionally, we are also volunteering at Al'z Place; a local facility that provides adult day care for people with Alzheimer's disease or severe memory impairment. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve our elderly population throughout Gainesville, in various capacities.
Please be aware that if you want to volunteer with us, you MUST have your Flu and COVID vaccines. Our top priority is keeping our members and the patients within Shands as safe as possible!

You are given the opportunity to have direct patient interaction while you deliver an uplifting smile, joy, and laughter to those who need it most. Through arts and crafts, playing games, reading, or simply sharing precious time with patients in the geriatric unit, we can't wait for you to experience the joy of discovering that it truly is better to give than to receive.
